“It’s been a buzz around school you know; ‘Go look at the video. Go look at the video’.”
Kris Garner is referring to 2 YouTube videos that some of her 6th and 7th grade students made last week.
But don’t let the hip music, cool dancing, and young faces fool you. These are videos about car safety.
“I learned we should buckle up more because people die from not wearing their seatbelts,” Jakwon Person tells NewsChannel 32.
And now Jakwon and his classmates are using this video to teach others what kids his age and younger have to do; like where to sit.
“In the back if you’re not 13 or older. They shouldn’t sit in the front.”
And one of the University of Georgia students who put this “Safe Kids Buckle Up” Campaign together says the students have taken it very seriously.
“They were really passionate about the video and dancing to the four step song and really getting the message out to their friends and peers,” Abby Blaylock explains.
Now all you have to do is visit YouTube and watch the videos so that you can help pass their message along.
The 6th and 7th graders are competing against each other to see whose video gets the most hits on YouTube.
You have until Friday at midnight to have your visit count.
