Lakeview’s David Pruett Signs With Armstrong Atlantic
In Gainesville today, Lakeview Academy basketball star David Pruett signed his letter of intent to play college basketball at Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah. Pruett led the Lion’s to their first region title in school history last season and was named the region player of the year. The four-year starter also leaves Lakeview with 1,961 career points which is second in school history. Pruett said he’ll carry the lessons he learned from playing under legendary coach Seth Vining with him to college.

Athlete of the Week: Mariam Abdullah
The Tallulah Falls School hasn’t seen an athlete like Mariam Abdullah in quite some time. The Indian’s track and field star will leave the school this summer holding 14 school records in everything from the 100 meters to the triple jump. But Abdullah’s senior year has come with it’s obstacles.

Athlete of the Week: Elizabeth Williams
The North Hall Lady Trojan soccer team will start their 2008 playoff run on Friday night at the Brickyard. The team is coming off it’s third straight Region 7-AAA title and boast a strong senior class including our Dodge Athlete of the Week Elizabeth Williams. Cody Chaffins has the story on the Trojan’s two-sport star.

Madison County Football Players Suspended For Bullying
Leslie Dietrich recorded this video a year ago, after she says her 17-year old son, Karl, was punched in the mouth by a teammate on the Madison County football team. Leslie tells NewsChannel 32, Karl has dealt with abusive teammates on more than one occasion and so have others.

Our Athlete of the Week is a runner, a passer, and a defensive back, and he is getting ready to play the biggest game of his career.
Hart County’s Kurvin Curry has led his Bulldog team to the Region 8-AAA championship game undefeated and looking to knock off rival Stephens County for the first time since 2002.

White County In Playoffs For First Time In 6 Years
In recent history the first week of the football playoffs has meant the start of basketball season in White County, but not this year. For the first time since 2001 the Warriors ended their season with a winning record and the White County is in the playoffs for the first time in 6 years. While the Warriors have surprised everyone with their playoff berth, they didn’t surprise themselves.
