Lakeview’s David Pruett Signs With Armstrong Atlantic

In Gainesville today, Lakeview Academy basketball star David Pruett signed his letter of intent to play college basketball at Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah.  Pruett led the Lion’s to their first region title in school history last season and was named the region player of the year.  The four-year starter also leaves Lakeview with 1,961 career points which is second in school history.  Pruett said he’ll carry the lessons he learned from playing under legendary coach Seth Vining with him to college.

The Tallulah Falls School hasn’t seen an athlete like Mariam Abdullah in quite some time.  The Indian’s track and field star will leave the school this summer holding 14 school records in everything from the 100 meters to the triple jump.  But Abdullah’s senior year has come with it’s obstacles.

  • White County In Playoffs For First Time In 6 Years

    In recent history the first week of the football playoffs has meant the start of basketball season in White County, but not this year.  For the first time since 2001 the Warriors ended their season with a winning record and the White County is in the playoffs for the first time in 6 years.  While the Warriors have surprised everyone with their playoff berth, they didn’t surprise themselves.
