Athlete of the Week: David Pruett
As high school basketball moves into the playoffs, there a lot of seniors that will be playing their last basketball games. The thought that the end is near also tends to bring out the best in those seniors. It has done just that for Lakeview Academy senior David Pruett and that’s why he’s our Dodge athlete of the week.

more »Danny Durham Takes Over as Rabun County Football Coach
It’s been 15 years since Danny Durham has roamed the sidelines in Rabun County, but this fall he’ll be coaching the Wildcats once again. Durham accepted the head coaching job at Rabun County last Thursday and as Cody Chaffins found out, the coach knows there’s a lot of work ahead and he’s wasting no time diving in.

Athlete of the Week: Gabe Irby
On Signing Day, Habersham Central’s Gabe Irby signed a letter of intent to play football at Wake Forest next year. The Demon Deacons landed a big offensive lineman that didn’t surrender a sack all of last season. But just as Irby starts to look ahead in his football career, his career in his other favorite sport is coming to an end. Cody Chaffins tells us how our Dodge Athlete of the Week is approaching the end of an era.

Madison County Football Players Suspended For Bullying
Leslie Dietrich recorded this video a year ago, after she says her 17-year old son, Karl, was punched in the mouth by a teammate on the Madison County football team. Leslie tells NewsChannel 32, Karl has dealt with abusive teammates on more than one occasion and so have others.

Our Athlete of the Week is a runner, a passer, and a defensive back, and he is getting ready to play the biggest game of his career.
Hart County’s Kurvin Curry has led his Bulldog team to the Region 8-AAA championship game undefeated and looking to knock off rival Stephens County for the first time since 2002.
